The children of St. James acted out the Stations of the Cross during an intimate and moving service on the morning of Good Friday. Led by Rev Melissa, the children walked through the stations, which were set up thbroughout the sanctuary, and learned first-hand of the suffering of Jesus before Pilate, from the crown of thorns to the mocking and torturing, from the carrying of the heavy cross to the crucifixion.
Their questions were as simple as "What doesaccused mean?" And they were as honest and pointed as, "How do you nail someone to a cross?" They received honest answers as the story unfolded. Then, a poignant lesson to take home:
All of the children then signed a letter to Jesus, and placed it in his tomb:
